$1,900 to the Colchester Food Bank - Our donation will to directly to the Colchester Food Bank run by Colchester Youth and Social Services. Due to the government shut down, SNAP program benefits have ended and more Colchester families are using the Food Bank for support. The food bank provides food, personal hygiene items and other household supplies to those in need.
$1,900 to Colchester School Lunch Balances - Our donation has been given to Colchester Public Schools to help pay down outstanding student lunch balances that accumulates throughout the year. The money has been applied to the CPS Food Service Department "donation" account and will be applied to families/students who need support. $1,900 to Colchester Senior Center - Due to the government shutdown and suspended SNAP benefits, many seniors have faced food insecurity. The Senior Center is using this donation to purchase grocery store gift cards that will be distributed by the Senior Benefits Coordinator and Director of the Senior Center to those in need.
